Knee Tendonitis
Tendonitis is an inflammation of a tendon. It is common in athletes who overuse a particular joint. The knee, often suffers from tendonitis because it is continually stressed during sports. Tendonitis in the knee often develops in cyclists and runners. Pain is usually characterized as achy pain worse after sporting activity, running or cycling. The diagnosis of knee tendonitis can be made with physical examination by a physician and sometimes confirmed with an MRI
- Consult a physician if you think you have Knee Tendonitis
- Warm up and stretch before, during, and after an activity, for muscle and tendon flexibility
- Rest is the most important part of the treatment program for Knee Tendonitis. Decrease training program by 50 percent. If that does not cure the problem, training should be decreased again by 50 percent.
